Our Wheels of Yesteryear run took place on 2nd July 2023.

Many thanks to those who took part in our Wheels of Yesteryear run to Lennoxlove House. We were delighted with the turnout and hope that you enjoyed the company of fellow enthusiasts for our run along scenic roads through Midlothian and East Lothian.

Our final destination was the splendid grounds of Lennoxlove House, by kind permission of the Duke of Hamilton. The collection after prize giving raised over £250 and we are most grateful for your generosity. We will be making a donation to the Lennoxlove Trust to support the upkeep of the historic Lennoxlove House with its associated contents and garden grounds.

I would like to thank all of the people who made this event possible and in particular John Neaves, Geoff Thrower, and Drummond Black for their support organising Wheels of Yesteryear. Thanks to Richard Welsh, Jeremy Spalding, and Gregor Robertson for marshalling, to Mary Neaves and Ruby Black for looking after sign-in at the Mining Museum and also to Ruby for organising the collection after prize giving.

We are planning to hold next year’s run to Lennoxlove on Sunday 7th July 2024, please put this date in your diary. As an entrant in this year’s run you will be invited to take part next year and we will be sending out the Wheels of Yesteryear entry forms in early 2024.

The Scottish Association of Vehicle Enthusiasts caters for owners of vintage and classic vehicles of all kinds and also for those who are not owners but are appreciative of old and timeless means of transportation. We formed in 1970, and over the years our rallies, Wheels of Yesteryear , have taken place at Melville Castle, Prestongrange, Lauriston Castle, Dalmeny, Ingliston and Lennoxlove.

In recent years, rather than a static display, we have organised an annual road run between the Scottish Mining Museum at Newtongrange and Lennoxlove Estate , near Haddington. (See events page)

We have monthly club meetings at venues around Edinburgh, with guest speakers, quizzes etc, other occasional events, a BBQ in the summer and a Christmas dinner (small charge). There is an annual AGM when club members elect the Committee, and a bi-monthly newsletter.

Membership is £20 a year.

Membership

For £20 a year, club members get a regular news magazine, free entry to our annual event, monthly meetings with guest speakers, and other activities (and good craic), a barbeque in the summer and Xmas dinner in the Winter (for a very small cost). Wheels Of Yesteryear 2024



We are planning to hold next year’s run to Lennoxlove on Sunday 7th July 2024, please put this date in your diary.



We hope that the arrangements will be similar to previous years with the start at the National Mining Museum, and our destination and vehicle display at Lennoxlove House, near Haddington but will confirm this nearer the date.

All entrants for the Wheels of Yesteryear 2023 run will automatically be invited to take part in our Wheels of Yesteryear 2024 run to Lennoxlove House on Sunday 7th July 2024.
